Christian Dubois grew up in Montreal, and like many French Canadian youngsters, he spent most of his free time playing hockey, taking up the goalie position with the dream of becoming the next Patrick Roy and wearing the “CH” of the Montreal Canadiens. Christian pursued this dream by spending his high school years between schools in Montreal and Boston.
After high school and the realization that playing professional hockey was not in his future, Christian looked at the possibility of moving away from home for his University years. In the summer of 1999 Christian and a few friends packed up the car and took a trip west to explore the Canadian Rockies and Pacific Coast. It was on this trip that Christian fell under the initial spell of the mountains and decided on the University of British Columbia to complete his degree in Wildlife biology in the faculty of Agriculture.
During these four years in Vancouver, Christian spent many weekends and holidays discovering the west and all of its gems; the Pacific Islands, the plethora of BC Parks, the Okanagan and of course the Rockies. With these travels and new adventures came renewed interests in skiing, hiking, camping and rock climbing. It became clear to Christian that although Montreal was still near and dear to his heart, the west was his new home.
After university Christian decided to put his degree to work and applied for a job working for Parks Canada. The successful application led to a job in Lake Louise and a relocation from Vancouver to Banff. It was in Banff and during those years working for Parks Canada that Christian met his wife Dagny. After a few years working seasonal jobs with Parks, Christian came to the conclusion that he wanted more consistency in his work, but without having to leave this amazing place he and Dagny called home. With a father and sister already in the real estate business, it seemed like a natural step for Christian to enter into the “family business”. In January of 2005 Christian joined Royal LePage Rocky Mountain Realty in Canmore.
Married in October of 2007, Christian and Dagny now have a daughter and along with the family dog Sequoia, live in Banff on Wolverine Street.
