Banff's Mt. Rundle Reflected in Vermilion Lakes
Located in Banff National Park approximately 22 km west of Canmore, the Town of Banff is well known for its magnificent beauty, world-class accommodations and great shopping. Banff’s modern history dates back to the late 1800′s, as the transcontinental railway was being cut through the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Some rail workers came across the now world famous Cave and Basin Hot Springs; and as they say, the rest is history.
As the main town site in Canada’s first National Park, Banff is a great place to live. The variety of world-class people and attractions make for a dynamic community. Famous attractions include the historic Banff Springs Hotel, the healing waters of the Upper Hot Springs, the Banff Centre for the Arts and the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. Other Banff National Park attractions include Lake Louise, Sunshine Village, Moraine Lake, and the Icefields Parkway.
In order to limit growth in Banff National Park, the federal government has placed some restrictions on residential and commercial development in both Banff and Lake Louise. Banff does have a need to reside clause and if you would like more information please contact your Banff Home Team. See here for Parks Canada – Need to Reside
The area around the Town of Banff has some fantastic biking opportunities, both road and mountain. Check out the mountain bike trail map here Tunnel Mountain Mountain Bike Trails
